Dr. Luis G. de Jesus is a Board-certified physician in Internal Medicine and participates in maintenance of Board certification.
After graduating at the University of the Philippines College of Medicine, he completed a 3-year Internal Medicine Residency Program at Lutheran Medical Center (now NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn) in Brooklyn, NY and was awarded Best Intern of the Year. He was chosen to be Chief Resident in his last year of residency. He then proceeded to complete a 2-year Fellowship Program in Infectious Disease at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Manhattan, NY.
Dr. de Jesus has been with Rutgers University Health Services-Newark since 1997 and sees general medical conditions, men’s health and sexually transmitted diseases. With his infectious disease training, Dr. deJesus has been in charge of the Health Services-Newark response to infectious diseases cases or outbreaks such as active tuberculosis, seasonal influenza, H1N1 influenza, chickenpox, meningococcal diseases. Dr. de Jesus was responsible for the RU Health Services-Newark transitioning from paper-charting to completely electronic medical records and currently serves as the medical record Manager & Security Officer and Health Services-Newark webmaster.
