WELCOME to Health Promotion
The Office of Health Promotion mission is to foster a campus environment optimal for academic achievement, by improving and maintaining the health and well-being (body, mind, and spirit) of Rutgers University – Newark students, staff, and faculty. Health Promotion accomplishes this mission by advocating for student-voice empowerment through peer-led interactive, health-educational strategies, interventions, and programs.

Health promotion also provides many opportunities to nurture student leadership and diversity through:

•    Student Health Advocates or SHA (peer-led interactive programs & exhibits)

•    UNITY Theatre (peer-led interactive, improv theatre group)

•    Health & Social Justice Course (4-credit academic writing-intensive course that is offered through both
      Psychology & Women’s Studies Departments)
